Blueberry Darrow is a late season fruiting variety of blueberry plant, producing firm, larger than average berries. Deciduous green leaves appear in spring and remain green throughout the summer months. In autumn, they will turn to a fiery burnt orange, before dropping off during the winter months. Delicate, white flowers bloom in spring, before plump, large blueberries begin to appear in mid to late August into September.
Plant Blueberry Darrow in moist, well-drained, acidic soil and in full sun. This is a hardy, fast-growing plant which is loved by pollinators. The blueberries have a tart, mildly sweet taste, making them well-suited for cooking, although they can be eaten fresh from the plant too. They'll be a delicious raw snack full of antioxidants, and can be consumed on their own or as a delightful addition to pancakes or porridge.
