Halimium libanotis

Halimium ‘Libanotis’ or ‘Rock Rose’ is a small-sized dwarf shrub with linear and plump green leaves, that are an attraction all round-year. It is low growing shrub that is habitually dense and is ideal for covering rocks in a rock garden. It blooms golden-yellow flowers with darker yellow centres in summer.

These medium sized yellow cup-shaped flowers tend to attract bees. Libanotis Rock Rose prefer warmth and prefer sunny location for growth. Their trailing or spreading branches grow beautiful linear leaves that bring Mediterranean feel round the year to your garden.

Libanotis Rock Rose will thrive in a moderately fertile and well-drained soil. Enough exposure to sunlight will help the shrub grow hardy. Protect them from cold dry winds and frost in winters. Pruning is not necessarily required, but only to keep the shape neat and tidy.

Libanotis Rock Rose are perfect as mixed borders in rock gardens. Use them to cover low walls or sunny slopes where other shrubs find it difficult to flourish. These are easy to grow, low maintenance shrubs that do not required any extra fertiliser feed.

Halimium Libanotis is an excellent elegant shrub with dazzling summer flowers. Its small size, shape and convenience makes it a fine addition to any rock garden.
